When it comes to snowboarding boots, there are two main styles, the boa closure system (boq), and good old laces. The big debate… which should you get? Well there are a few pros and cons to the both of them, which is true for anything you are comparing. The great thing about the boa system is that it is extremely easy to use and you can go pretty much all day without having to adjust it. With laces, about midway through the day you have to take a moment and re-tighten your boot laces. However, I have heard from a couple friends that they refuse to try boots that have the boa system. The reason… they’ve seen one too many take some nasty falls because the boa wires snapped. Now, I don’t want anyone who has a pair of those boots to panic, because I know of a few people that love them! To be fair, laces can snap on you as well. Honestly, I think it’s a toss up, I can’t say for certain which has the edge. Personally, I like laces better, but it’s all a matter of opinion. Though, I can’t wait to see what designs will be coming out for boots in the years to come. Have fun on the slopes!
