Recently, I have spoken with quite a few people that are concerned about the warm weather the UP is experiencing every now and then. I am here to tell you, don’t worry! I’ll give you an example. Lets say it’s a beautiful sunny day and it is about 45 degrees out, warmer than normal and you would think, this must not be good for the snow. In all honesty, it does not effect the snow as much as you would think. Our snow base is 48-56 inches and a couple days of warm weather is going to do minimal damage to a hard, compacted snow base of that depth. Now that we have that covered, let’s talk about the conditions of the slopes after a warm day. At night, when the temperature begins to drop, our mountain crew starts to work their magic. They will make sure that the conditions are perfect before the chairs start at 9am. Every run is groomed, and the terrain park is fixed every single day! So, when you here the weather talk about warm weather on the way, fear not! The snow conditions are going to be better than you are expecting. Enjoy the rest of your day and we hope to see you out on the slopes this weekend!

Thinking of Snow,
