LIFT TICKETS AND SEASON PASSES

Access to slopes and lifts is permitted only to those with valid facilities pass or Season Pass. Anyone caught on the slopes without a valid facilities pass or season pass will be charged three times the daily facilities pass rate and be required to leave the property. Authorities will be contacted if you are unable to make payment &/or violate our family atmosphere policy. Violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and asked to leave the property.

Riding with an unredeemed advanced lift ticket voucher or a complimentary facilities pass voucher will be treated as being on the slopes without a valid facilities pass or season pass. Please put your facilities pass on right after purchase with a new wicket (do not place over prior facilities pass) and in a visible location easily accessed by our staff. Ski Brule will not replace facilities pass or season passes if lost or stolen.

750.218 False pretenses with the intent to defraud. A person who, with the intent to defraud or cheat makes or uses a false pretense to do 1 or more of the following is guilty of a crime punishable as provided in this section: © the use of any facility, or other valuable thing or service. The person is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment up to a year or a fine of up to $2,000.

324.73102 Entering or remaining on property of another. A person shall not enter or remain upon the property of another person to engage in any recreational activity on that property without the consent of the owner if the property is posted in a conspicuous manner against entry.

Ski Brule prides itself on offering our customers the best possible conditions available. We cannot control or guarantee weather. Please be sure that conditions on any given day are acceptable to you and that you are physically able to ski and use the lifts before purchasing a facilities pass because NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES WILL BE GIVEN.

SKI EQUIPMENT

Ski Brule allows the use of skis, snowboards, and adaptive devices or other “manually-powered mobility aids” designed for use on the ski slopes. Adaptive devices are any specialized equipment that was designed and manufactured primarily for use by individuals who have disabilities, including; mono skis, bi skis, ski outriggers, and sit-skis.

Snow bikes, snow decks, snow skateboards, home-made equipment and power-driven mobility devices are prohibited.

OPERATIONS

Ski Brule reserves the right to operate lifts and slopes according to skier/rider traffic and weather conditions. Best efforts are made to have Snow and Grooming reports accurate and up-to-date, however, closures of lifts and runs may occur prior to an online update. No refunds or rainchecks will be issued as a result.

All guests are required to have skis, snowboard and alpine devices attached to ride all lifts and tows.

Your Facilities Pass & Season Pass is subject to following these and other posted rules. Ski Brule follows a zero-tolerance policy. Violators lose their Facilities Pass / Season Pass.

LEASH POLICY

Leashes Devices are required to access the lift, per Michigan Ski Area Safety Act Statute 408.341. Applicable To Snowboards, Telemark, Mini Skis & Old Alpine Bindings. Snow Decks & Snow Bikes are NOT permitted on the chairlift or on the slopes.

HELMETS

Helmets are not required at Ski Brule but are strongly encouraged. Helmets are available for rent in our rental shop and are available for purchase at Bear’s Den Pro Shop shop. Parents are encouraged to log onto lidsonkids.org for further information on the protection afforded by helmets.

RULES OF CONDUCT

Ski Brule reserves the right to revoke the lift ticket or season pass of any skier/rider without warning or refund for reckless, out-of-control skiing/riding, the failure to act in accordance with the rules of the Responsibility Codes or other conduct detrimental to other patrons, staff members, the ski area or terrain parks. Ski Brule reserves the right to deny the use of area facilities to anyone who appears to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

Routine lubrication of lifts is essential for their safe operation.

Under certain weather conditions, lubricants may fall onto chairs or clothing. This situation is common in the ski industry & is beyond our control. Ski Brule assumes no responsibility for soiled clothing.

Should you have this problem, we suggest you not rub or try to clean the affected area. Let the spot dry, and have the garment professionally cleaned according to the manufacturer’s recommendation.

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY/ AUDIO

Purchase of facilities pass grant permission to the rights of your image, likeness and sound of your voice as recorded on audio or video tape without payment or any other consideration. Your image may be edited, copied, exhibited, published, or distributed and waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein your likeness appears. Additionally, you waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of my image or recording.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY CODE

Skiing and riding can be enjoyed in many ways. At ski areas, you may see people using alpine, snowboard, telemark, cross country and other specialized ski equipment, such as that used by disabled or other skiers. Regardless of how you decide to enjoy the slopes, always show courtesy to others and be aware that there are elements of risk that common sense and personal awareness can help reduce. Observe the code listed below and share with other skiers & riders the responsibility for a great experience.

  • Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.
  • People ahead or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You must avoid them.
  • Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.
  • Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.
  • You must prevent runaway equipment.
  • Read and obey all signs, warnings, and hazard markings.
  • Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
  • You must know how and be able to load, ride and unload lifts safely. If you need assistance, ask the lift attendant.
  • Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
  • If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with each other and a ski area employee.

PASSENGER NOTICE

Notice of Inherent Injury Risks and Assumption of Risks

Skiing and boarding are physical sports which involve a mountain winter environment. There are potentially serious risks inherent in these sports which may result in catastrophic injury or death. By using this area you are assuming all risks of injury, damage or loss.

If you are not willing to assume these risks, do not purchase a Facilities Pass / Season Pass at Ski Brule.

Children & Single Riders MUST load on Operator’s side of the lift.

Limit 2 passengers per chairlift, including children.

DO NOT CARRY children in your arms/lap/etc while riding on the chairlift.

Approved carrier device is permissible.

Ski Brule staff may never carry a child in any circumstances, even

with approved carrier device. This includes when staff person is

not working.

The American National Standard For Passenger Ropeways recognizes that certain dangers and risks are inherent in machines of this type, and their operation. It is also recognized that inherent and other risks or dangers exist for those who are in the process of loading, riding or unloading from lifts, tows or conveyors. Passengers accept the risks inherent in such participation of which the ordinary prudent person is or should be aware.

Passengers shall use good judgment and act in a responsible manner while using the ropeway, tow or conveyor, including:

  • Participating in the loading, riding, and unloading processes in such a manner as to reduce risks for themselves and others;
  • Obeying all written and oral instructions and warnings;
  • Refraining from using the lift, tow or conveyor while under the influence of drugs or alcohol;
  • Properly use the lift, tow or conveyor and equipment provided.

All passengers who use a lift, tow or conveyor shall be responsible for their own loading, riding, and unloading. They shall be presumed to have sufficient ability, physical dexterity, and/or personal assistance to negotiate and to be evacuated safely. Passengers shall maintain control of their speed and course while loading and unloading. A passenger shall get on and get off at designated areas.

No passenger shall load the lift without first understanding and observing the proper loading, riding, and unloading procedures.

Passengers, while riding a ropeway or tow ; shall not throw or expel therefrom any object, nor shall any passenger do any act or thing that shall interfere with the operation. Passengers shall not willfully engage in any type of conduct that may contribute to or cause injury to any other person.

Please read and observe all signs. As for instructions if needed.

ALCOHOL POLICY

Alcohol purchased at Ski Brule Services is permitted. All other alcohol is not permitted (no carry in alcohol) per Michigan State Law.

Consumption & purchase of alcohol is permitted for age 21 & older at the time of purchase. Valid driver’s license or state id required.

CARRY IN FOOD POLICY

Carry in food is permitted except for the following:

No crockpots, heated coolers, nescos, warming food equipment are permitted inside any Ski Brule property.

Carry in food is not permitted at the Brule Saloon.

ANIMAL POLICY

Pets may not join you in Ski Brule buildings or on the slopes (except service animals) & must be restrained in other areas.

Service Animals:

Handler Responsibility: The animal must be housebroken and kept under control (e.g., on a leash or harness, unless the handler’s disability prevents this)

Service Animals vs. Pets: Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Only animals individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability are permitted. Pets and emotional support animals (ESAs) are prohibited from indoor dining areas by the Michigan Modified Food Code.

DRONE POLICY

Out of safety concerns for guests, employees and resort property, as well as concerns for individual privacy, Ski Brule prohibits the operation or use of unmanned aerial systems, or drones, by the general public including recreational users and hobbyists without the prior written authorization from Ski Brule. This prohibition includes drones used for filming or videotaping, as well as any drone used by media or journalists operating above or within Ski Brule boundaries. This prohibition on drone operations or use extends to any drones launched or operated from Ski Brule boundaries, as well as drones launched from private property outside of Ski Brule boundaries.

Any authorized operation of aerial drones may be governed by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules and regulations, local law enforcement as well as those policies separately established by Ski Brule, which may include certification, training, insurance coverage, indemnification requirements, and waivers or releases of liability.

Any violation of this policy may involve suspension of your skiing or snowboarding privileges, or the revocation of your season pass, as well as confiscating of any drone equipment, and may subject violators to any damages, including, but not limited to, damages for violations of privacy and/or physical or personal injuries or property damage, as well as regulatory fines and legal fees.
