Iron River Michigan Rodeo

The U.P. Championship Rodeo is in Iron River Michigan this weekend!

JULY 18TH- the rodeo will start with a Market Daze, but this year be held at the fairground ,due to construction, from 9 am to 3 pm. the West Iron District Library will hold its used book sale at the same time. The Rodeo Vittles luncheon starts at 11 am at First Presbyterian Church. Miss UP Rodeo event also gets going on Friday. Check when in the weekly editions in the Reporter. Family Fun Night, from 3- 8 pm will feature a petting zoo and plenty of games in front of the grand stand. Also there will be mutton busting (kids trying to aboard a sheep) ,Cash Cow ( kids try to recover money attached to a calf set loose in the arena), sack races, bested dressed cowboy and cowgirl, coloring stations and a duck tank. 9 pm the barn Dance starts at the Rotunda, top level of the fairgrounds; featuring live music from talented area musicians.

JULY 19TH- Fourth annual Windsor Rodeo Run at 8 am. There will be a 10K run, a 5K run/fun walk and a 2-mile run/fun walk. for more information on the Windsor Rodeo Run contact Dawn Pisoni at 906-367-5218 or email at [email protected]. Also the Windsor Art Round-Up will be help on Sat. only this year and take place from 9 am to 3 pm located on the corner of US 2 and Seventh Ave.
Wild West Parade will start at 10 am and will have a new route for 2014. Will start at the east end of the fairgrounds and goes sound on Fourth Ave. to US 2. From there, it turns east on the highway and continues on east to Lay Ave., then north on Lay to Franklin Street, then west on Franklin back to the fairgrounds.
Pancake Breakfast at the Iron River Senior Center 8-11:30 am. and two brat feeds at Riverside Plaza and VFW Post 3134, both after the parade.
The gates open at noon and the pre-rodeo entertainment begins at 1 pm, entertaining spectators as they arrive for the first performance which will start at 2 pm. The gates reopen at 5 pm and a 5:30 entertainment until the rodeo performance starts at 7 pm and is “Tough
Enough to Wear Pink”. (Shamco and Deave’s Radiator sponsoring that performance)

JULY 20TH- The gates open for the
final rodeo performance at noon, and the pre-rodeo entertainment starts at 1 p.m. By now, judging for the Miss U.P. Rodeo contest will be complete, and the coronation ceremony for the new Miss U.P. Rodeo takes place at 1:30. She will be representing the U.P. Championship Rodeo at many events over the next year. The
final rodeo performance starts at 2. After that, the cowboys and livestock head out to their next event on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association circuit
