The 35th Annual Thanksgiving Race Camp is designed to help athletes build a strong foundation for the season while minimizing time away from school. \nWith 35+ years of great early-season snow and one of the premier snowmaking facilities in the country\, Ski Brule is ready to provide the terrain and training opportunities racers need to start the season strong. \nA separate program for Masters racers is also available. \n3 Keys to Success\n1. FundamentalsDevelop and reinforce essential skiing skills through drills focused on proper technique and race tactics. \n2. Excellent VisualsAthletes learn from demonstrations by experienced coaches and athletes\, along with video of World Cup skiers. \n3. Maximum RepetitionsOn-snow training is structured to maximize mileage\, gate time\, and quality turns throughout camp. \nTraining Structure\nAthletes will be grouped according to age and ability to provide an appropriate level of instruction and challenge. Parents wishing to accompany very young children are welcome. \nTraining emphasizes solid ski technique\, biomechanics\, and race-specific skills. Electronic lectures and additional instruction will cover technique\, tactics\, conditioning\, equipment maintenance\, sport psychology\, and equipment. \nTraining Schedule\nThursday–Sunday \n\nLifts open at 9:00 AM\nMeet at 8:30 AM – location TBA\nBreakfast buffet approximately 1 hour before lifts\nEvening activities at 7:00 PM – TBA\n\nCamp Fees\n$120 per racer\, per day$460 per racer for all four days \nPayment is due in full with the application. Please make checks payable to Ski Brule Race Camp. \nImportant: Race Camp fees do not include lift tickets\, lodging\, or meals. A variety of lodging options are available\, including local motels. \nCall 1-800-DO-BRULE (1-800-362-7853) for lodging information. \nMeet the Coaching Staff\nPat Slattery — Head CoachPat is a Level 400 Coach\, Central Junior Olympic Team coach\, and PSIA Level III instructor with more than 40 years of coaching experience. His background includes Mt. Hood and Blackcomb summer camps\, Wilmot\, MAD Alpine\, Blackhawk Ski Club\, and Waunakee High School. He also served as an assistant U.S. coach at the 32nd Trofeo Topolino Games in 1992 and as acting Swiss team captain. \nJim Lease — Masters CoachJim is a Level 200 Coach\, PSIA Level III Instructor\, Pro Racer\, and traveling NASTAR Pacesetter with more than 35 years of racing and coaching experience. Jim will lead the dedicated Masters Program. \nJenny Dahlberg — Associate Coach\, BlackhawkJenny has served as Head Coach of the Blackhawk Alpine Race Team since its beginning in 2005. She is a Level 100 coach with course-setting credits\, a former UW racer\, and former USSA racer for Team Duluth. \nAdditional Coaches: Bob Vial\, Dennis Novak\, Jonathan Manderfield\, Sarah Breckenridge\, Corry White\, Larry Heathman\, and MaryLu Cianciolo bring extensive racing\, coaching\, instructional\, and competitive experience to the Thanksgiving Race Camp.
